10 Things You Need to Know About a Home Invasion

Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre is the legendary survival blogger who lived through the economic collapse of Argentina and runs the excellent site The Modern Survivalist. There he has a fantastic article that analyzes a home invasion in Mexico and gives some great advice on making your own home more home invader resistant. It’s really got a lot of great information so check it out.

You may also want to check out his book The Modern Survival Manual:Surviving the Economic Collapse. Just saying.

I’ve brought up some of the dangers of Mexico to my husband from time to time (not the least of which is the importation of misogynistic views), and he still insists that these issues are relegated to a few “bad spots”, and that the tourist destinations are fairly safe (key word being “fairly”).

Still, it’s not a place I’ll be visiting, especially with children in tow. I’m even hesitant to get close to the border at this point.

There’s a report out I might write about on Red State that suggests the Zeta cartel will attempt to overthrow the Mexican government in 2012. They already control most of northern Mexico and some of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. It’s dangerous.

I don’t even drink Mexican beers anymore for fear of being killed by a rival Mexican beer cartel. It’s scary out there people… drink responsibly.

    So no “XX” or Corona?

If I had to imagine what donkey piss tasted like, I’d have to guess it tasted like one of those beers anyway. X-P They’re both pretty nasty. I’d take a nice home-brewed braggot over those any day. :)
