18th Street Gang Fake I.D. Ring Busted in Cherokee County, Georgia

Inger Eberhart posted this at The Examiner:

Cherokee County law enforcement busted a fake ID ring this week.  The counterfeit documents included, but were not limited to, social security cards and drivers licenses.  Also found with the fake IDs was over $15,000 and receipts showing that at least $75,000 was sent Mexico.  Cherokee County law enforcement touted this as the largest bust of its kind in the county.

Three people behind the operation have been arrested but Cherokee County officials believe this is just the “tip of the iceberg.”  The suspects behind the operation are believed to be members of the 18th Street Gang and are suspected of being illegal aliens.

The 18th Street gang is one of the largest and most violent Latino street gangs in the nation. Some of their “cliques’ having working relationships with Mexican cartels. They mostly deal with Meth and have been known to co-opt smaller crews to work as “tax collectors” and drug mules. The presence of the gang running a large scale and sophisticated operation like this which makes them integral to the wider illegal immigrant community should be cause for great concern.
