27 Charged in Greenville Gambling Bust

More than $63,000 was seized during a raid on an unlawful gambling ring in Greenville.  27 individuals were ticketed during the Jan. 14 bust.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Deputies served a warrant at at 90 Lenhart Road after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip, WYFF reports.

A release from the Police Department said this was not considered a “friendly game of poker” because investigators learned there would be a “high-dollar buy-in.”

In addition to cash, News Radio WORD reports that deputies found “poker chips, gaming tables, video gaming machines and betting parahernalia” during the bust.  The following is a list of the individuals who were ticketed, their ages, and the dollar amount confiscated from each:

Incidentally, the Greenville News is the only local source reporting that deputies seized more than $64,000 in the raid.  Oh, wait, that’s just the headline.  The actual article calls it “nearly $64,000.”
