Armed Robbery and Kidnapping at Dollar General on Augusta Road

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two suspects in connection with an armed robbery and kidnapping at a Dollar General store Monday night.  The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the Dollar General located at 9538 Augusta Road.

According to the sheriff’s office: Two female employees had closed the business for the evening and were walking to their vehicles in the parking lot when they were approached by two black males.

The two subjects reportedly charged towards the employees from some nearby bushes.  One of the employees stated that she attempted to get in the passenger side of her vehicle, but the suspect grabbed her by the shirt collar and jerked her backwards.

The suspects forced the employees back inside the business at gunpoint, and ordered them to open the safe.

The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of money from the safe, which they placed in a Dollar General plastic bag.  The suspects then ordered the employees to lay face down on the floor.

After hearing the suspects leave, the employees called 911 to report the crime.

More on the suspects from a WYFF4 article that refuses to use the term “kidnapping” for the crime of forcing two women to go someplace against their will:

The robbers are described as black, in their late 20s to early 30s. One of them was 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark black or blue hooded sweatshirt, a dark ski mask and light gray sweat pants. The women said he was armed with a rifle or shotgun.

The second robber is described as being about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing blue jeans, dark hooded sweatshirt and dark ski mask. The women said he was carrying a handgun.

Investigators said it was unclear if the robbers fled on foot or in a vehicle.
