Bobby Lee Peoples Jr Faces Bigamy Charge
You’ve heard the saying that life imitates art? Well, in upstate South Carolina, life has been imitating a cheesy Lifetime movie.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has charged Bobby Lee Peoples Jr of Greenville with bigamy after verifying that he was living a double life with two area women. WYFF4 reports:
Deputies said Yayoi Kin Peoples, 33, called and said that she had received a text in October from someone trying to reach her 34-year-old husband, Bobby Lee Peoples Jr. When she inquired who was trying to get a hold of her husband, the person replied that she was Peoples’ wife, Brandy Taylor.
Deputies said they determined that Peoples had married Yayoi Kin Peoples in February 2005 and had also married Brandy Taylor, who lives in Greenville, in Asheville, N.C. on Oct. 15.
Ms. Taylor told News Channel 7 that her supposed husband pretended he was attending a Florida homeland security school, but it is now clear he was living in Roebuck with his first wife, Yayoi Kin Peoples.
Bobby Lee Peoples Jr was released from the Spartanburg County Detention Center after posting bond.
