Heroic Tow Truck Driver Catches Tiny Pervert in Spartanburg
Good news in that case of the 13-year-old girl who ran off with the 5’2″ Facebook predator from West Virginia. A tow truck driver spotted the man driving around Spartanburg and followed him until the cops could stop him. Would it surprise you to know aside from this incident he also has several other outstanding warrants? You mean he’s a career criminal? Who’d a thunk?
Good work buddy!
Trucker Helps Save Kidnapped North Carolina Toddler
The kid was kidnapped from his grandmother who had custody by his mentally ill (drug user) mother. In the course of the crime the mother, 26-year-old Laura Ann Marsh, beat the grandmother with a pipe. An Amber Alert was issued and a eagle eyed trucker was able to find the deranged woman and lead officers to her:
GASTONIA, N.C. – An unknown truck driver helped Highway Patrol troopers rescue a 2-year-old boy early Friday morning who had been violently kidnapped by his mentally ill mother in Georgia, according to warrants.
A truck driver heading across the state line into North Carolina on I-85 spotted the Georgia mother and alerted authorities at 12:36 a.m. Friday while in Cleveland County and troopers were able to stop the woman at 12:46 a.m. just before mile marker 13 in Gaston County, according to the Highway Patrol.
The truck driver recognized the car and license plate from an Amber Alert. The boy was taken into custody by Gaston County Department of Social Services and the mother went to Gaston County Jail.
And he didn’t even stick around for accolades. My kind of hero. Who knows what Laura Ann Marsh was planning on doing with that helpless child.
Here’s an interesting note. Marsh is supposedly schizophrenic and bi-polar but she went to lock up, not a hospital. Maybe they do things differently in North Carolina but it sounds to me like the authorities think she’s sane. Faking an illness or a chronic pot smoker?
Urban Farm Feeds Family?
Meh. I do a little gardening and frankly anyone who thinks their garden will feed them is kidding themselves but it is a great way to save money. This guy’s garden is doing well and with gas and food prices going up it’s time everyone starts thinking about getting back to basics. For being a good example this guy is a hero:
15-Year-Old Learns Not to Commit Robbery the Hard Way
And I mean the real hard way. According to reports this kid went and got a gun from an 18-year-old friend named Jamique Mills then took two 12-year-olds with him on some sort of late night home invasion. He picked the home of one Erik Moreno-Carillo who returned from some errands (drinking) to find the two 12-year-olds standing in his yard. After chasing the two younger kids off Moreno-Carillo was confronted by the 15-year-old thug in training who pointed his purloined gun at him.
Those of us who have lived in areas with dense immigrant populations will have already guessed how this would end.
The muy macho Erik Moreno-Carillo wrestled the gun away from the punk and, armed with a knife that just happened to be nearby, proceeded to stab the living shit out of him. The kid ran off but the kind hearted bladesman called police and an ambulance to pick the kid up. He was found in what I assume was his home and ended up in Greenville memorial hospital. I’m told this happened in Piedmont.
The kids involved are going to family court, but I think one teen may have learned his lesson. Jamique got the brunt of the charges including three counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Erik Moreno-Carillo’s home is now considered the safest on the block.
Thank the Gods! House Approves Amazon Deal!

Finally people have come to their senses! From GoUpstate.com:
In a stunning reversal, the state House overwhelmingly approved a five-year sales-tax exemption today for Amazon to build a distribution center in Cayce.
The measure passed 97-20 three weeks after the House rejected it by a vote of 71-47. The online retailer halted work on the center and stopped hiring the first of the 1,249 jobs when the incentive was turned down.
Lexington County lawmakers and business leaders said Amazon could build three additional sites in South Carolina if it did not have to collect sales taxes from state residents for five years. Two of the other sites are in Spartanburg and Cayce.
House Republican leader Kenny Bingham, R-Lexington, said on the House floor that Amazon would invest at least $125 million and create 2,000 jobs in South Carolina.
As usual the “brick and morter” businesses are claiming that this will hurt their bottom line – which doesn’t make sense because Amazon would continue to operate the same way whether they created jobs here or not. Amazon is under attack because it is the last free market in the world, and these businesses that have hopped on Wal-Mart’s coat tails should be taking advantage of the Amazon platform instead of literally trying to put force people into their storefronts.
Anyway, my prayers were yet again answered – proving I am much beloved by all the gods everywhere. Suck it Wal-Mart!
