Two Charged in Murder of Tammy Lewis
40-year-old Tammy L. Lewis was last seen March 17th by two separate friends. The missing woman was known to disappear for a few days at a time and she was struggling with drug addiction. In this instance however, Tammy Lewis’ family was very concerned.
Tammy’s house had been broken into, her car had reportedly been stolen and there have been reports of her receiving death threats prior to disappearing. From Fox Carolina:
After she went missing, Lewis’ family told FOX Carolina that it was not unusual for Lewis to go missing for a couple of days at a time, but this amount of time was unusual.
Police said at that time that they completed a search of Lewis’ home, but did not release the details of the search.
Lewis’ sister, Tiona Perry, said Lewis’ home was broken into three days before she went missing. She said Lewis also reported her car had been stolen before her disappearance.
Perry said she found a scene of disarray inside her sister’s home when she went to check on her. She said Lewis’ power had been cut and there was a strong smell of bleach inside, to which Lewis is allergic.
Now police have announced that 25-year-old Stephanie Bailey and 27-year-old Antwon Michael Quarles Jr. have been charged with the beating death of Tammy Lewis. Quarles is already sitting in the penn on federal parole violation charges so he hasn’t been served his arrest warrant yet. This sounds to me like Quarles got picked up and rolled on his girlfriend.
No motive has been announced yet but it’s likely drug related. WSPA has plenty of updates and the original video of the case:
15-Year-Old Learns Not to Commit Robbery the Hard Way
And I mean the real hard way. According to reports this kid went and got a gun from an 18-year-old friend named Jamique Mills then took two 12-year-olds with him on some sort of late night home invasion. He picked the home of one Erik Moreno-Carillo who returned from some errands (drinking) to find the two 12-year-olds standing in his yard. After chasing the two younger kids off Moreno-Carillo was confronted by the 15-year-old thug in training who pointed his purloined gun at him.
Those of us who have lived in areas with dense immigrant populations will have already guessed how this would end.
The muy macho Erik Moreno-Carillo wrestled the gun away from the punk and, armed with a knife that just happened to be nearby, proceeded to stab the living shit out of him. The kid ran off but the kind hearted bladesman called police and an ambulance to pick the kid up. He was found in what I assume was his home and ended up in Greenville memorial hospital. I’m told this happened in Piedmont.
The kids involved are going to family court, but I think one teen may have learned his lesson. Jamique got the brunt of the charges including three counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Erik Moreno-Carillo’s home is now considered the safest on the block.
Frederick Van Anderson Gets Life Without Parole, Dereves to Die
Too bad they didn’t give him the death penalty. Why let a scumbag like this plead out when you’ve got him dead to rights?
GREENVILLE, SC — A Greenville County man accused of killing his ex-wife’s boyfriend while their children cowered in a nearby bedroom has pleaded guilty to avoid a possible death sentence.
Multiple media outlets report that 39-year-old Frederick Van Anderson was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday after pleading guilty to the 2008 murder of Steven Gray of Travelers Rest. His trial had been set for Jan. 3.
Police say Anderson broke into his ex-wife’s home and shot Gray at least twice with a shotgun.
Authorities say Anderson called for his ex-wife as she and the children hid in a nearby bedroom, then walked several blocks and fired at least 10 shots into his former mother-in-law’s home.
Four children were at the second home, but no one was hurt.
Nice guy, right? Any of you thug huggers feel like dropping by to tell me “there’s two sides to every story” about this guy, who was planning on killing his kids?
Another Escort Robbed by Suspected Gang Member
As I’ve reported before there have been a series of robberies that target local esocrts. Some rumors were that a fellow escort was setting up the competition but I heard that there’s it’s a gang that wants easy money and to prove a point to the local sex workers. That point being they will need pimps to be safe and the gang was ready to play daddy.
GoUpstate is reporting on another robbery and this time there is a picture of the assailant. I noticed his Pittsburgh Pirates hat which is worn by some blood sets because the “P” is used to represent the word Piru which is a term Bloods use to describe themselves. Former Greenville Dragnet blogger Joe Friday had pointed out that there were Gangster Disciples in the area so if Bloods are moving in there may be trouble coming for people beside escorts as the rivals fight over turf.

Greenville County authorities are asking for help in identifying a man accused of taking money from a female escort and tying her up against her will.
The woman told deputies that a man knocked on her motel door at 33 Beacon Drive at about 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 22. She said when she opened the door the suspect forced his way into the room and demanded money. The man then pointed a black handgun at her and restrained her. After he stole an undisclosed amount of cash, he left the room. He is wanted on kidnapping and armed robbery charges, according to a written report from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies are looking for a black man about 20 to 30 years old. He is about 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 3 inches and weighs about 250 pounds. Witnesses said he left the motel in a sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer, according to the report.
This case is similar to two other cases that authorities are currently investigating. Anyone who has information leading to the identity and arrest of this man are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
Be careful out there ladies. It might be time to think about taking a pay cut and doing some bartending at a stripclub.
The robbery happened at The Wingate by Windham motel which is a fairly inexpensive hotel (under $100 a nght) but is hardly a fleabag motel. I’ve never been but I’m surprised that someone would pick a place like that to pull a stick-up.
The new word on the street is that local escorts are not taking Black clients because of the number of robberies involving young Black men.
Raccoons Nearly Eat Infant Alive in Georgia
I myself have been attacked by a rabid raccoon so I am under no illusions about these animals being cuddly or sweet. Many people however are and feed the raccoons, or otherwise let them settle in populated areas which frequently leads to dog and cat killings and other acts of predation. On occasion they will attack people – especially small ones:
A baby was hospitalized on Wednesday after being attacked by a pair of raccoons as she slept in her own crib.
The 9-month-old Georgia girl is listed in critical condition and suffered extensive injuries to her head, according to The Covington News.
The raccoons entered the home around 4 a.m. through the side panels of a window air conditioner in the mother’s bedroom, where the baby slept, authorities said.
A Newton County Sheriff’s office spokesperson said the mother, Melissa Cannon, woke up hearing her baby whimpering. To her horror she found the pair of animals biting the infant as if they were trying to eat it. She batted the racoons away and called 911.
Police arrived to find the critters outside the house. They shot one of the raccoons, which became aggressive, but the pair then escaped into debris in the back of the home. They were later located.
The wounded raccoon died, but the other was apprehended by animal control. It was tested for rabies, but results were negative.
The baby was rushed to the hospital with wounds to her head, face, hands and feet.
These raccoons were not rabid, just doing what raccoons do. That’s why hunting and trapping them, and thus putting the fear of humans in them, is so important.
