20-year-old William Matthew Guthrie from Traveler’s Rest was arrested when it was found with multiple bite marks on it. Originally he tried to claim he just didn’t know how a baby in his care ended up nibbled on but after failing a lie detector test he fessed up.
Cops are saying a “bad relationship” led to the Greer stand off where one person was killed. I assume the police took a class in understatement.
A Simpsonville man named Brian Gilbert bit off the tips of a cop’s finger in Anderson. After being released from the hospital the officer began experiencing severe symptoms including abnormally low blood platelet count. He’s being treated with cancer drugs but so far no one knows what’s wrong with him. Gilbert is a registered sex offender.
Who would have thought meeting the weirdos you know online in real life would be a bad idea? I mean, except crime bloggers, people who read the news, people with common sense, etc.
From Caribbean 360:
The accused, Sherman Webb of Kingshill, Dominica, is charged with the murder of Poleon, a 23-year-old bank teller, between August 31, 2009 and March 18, 2010.
According to information revealed in court last week, (Rohan) Poleon visited Dominica in February of 2009 and again on August 3, 2009 to meet Webb. The two men had allegedly met via the Internet.
Poleon’s family members reported him missing after he failed to return home to Barbados. His mortal remains were later found under the floorboards of a small wooden house in Elmshall, Dominica.
Webb allegedly confessed to the crime to three police officers: Corporal Jeffrey James, Sergeant Matthew Cuffy and Constable Scotland, detailing what had transpired and leading them to the scene of the incident.
Allegedly, Webb took Poleon to the heights of River Claire in Elmshall to a little “wooden shack” where he “chopped him on both sides of his neck” causing him to bleed to death.
Sergeant Cuffy testified that the alleged murder took place in a blue wooden house in Elmshall. Upon entering, the defendant pointed to an area on the floor where he had allegedly buried Poleon.
Police removed the floorboards and dug a hole where skeletal remains of the deceased were recovered along with a greenish rubber wristband bearing his name.
Cuffy said the accused admitted to using a cutlass to injure Poleon on his neck and digging a hole beneath the floor where he removed all his clothes and buried him.
Webb allegedly went on to replace the boards, carry water from a nearby river and wash the blood from the floor, and return to his home in Kingshill where he disposed of the clothing and other items belonging to the deceased.
According to the accused’s statements to the officer, he and Poleon were arguing, “trying to conjure the demon and in the middle of it, he got scared”.
Investigators reportedly found several items of paraphernalia related to some form of satanic ritual at Webb’s home.
Thank goodness he lost his nerve! Making this murder even more despicable because it was completely meaningless.
Stop meeting people you know from the Internet, especially the ones who are interested in summoning demons.
What!?! Hookers using social networks? No way! Who would have thought?
From the far too naive Philadelphia CBS affiliate:
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Prostitution has plagued any number of internet sites in recent years – notably Craigslist – but now the CBS 3 I-Team has found a new hideout for hookers on one of the most widely-used social media sites.
Our exclusive investigation found Twitter is used by call girls all the time as a free way to advertise. A simple search for escorts returns hundreds of tweets. And, there are illicit pictures and lots of links to websites that are so X-rated, we couldn’t open them on company computers.
But it goes way beyond that: some prostitutes right in your backyard are even setting up appointments over Twitter, which is used by kids of all ages. The I-Team met up with one prostitute at a motel outside Wilmington, Delaware, having never spoken with her. All our communication was through Twitter.
We met another woman, who calls herself a “goddess” at a Cherry Hill motel after we saw her advertise her availability on Twitter.
She uses Twitter in the same way many prostitutes do: to tell prospective clients, in 140 characters or less, where she is and when she’s available. She posted tweets like: “Philly, I’m back for 2 days only” or “One more day til my AC Trip,” advising her followers to “book early.”
Did I say naive? Maybe I meant involved. Anyone else think this article stinks of a cover-up for a reporter caught contacting working girls on his laptop?
This scumbag was found with a collection of pornography that consisted of videos of children between 3 and 10 being molested and raped. In 1994 he himself had raped a child. All he got was a lousy 20 years. He should have gotten life.
From Fox Carolina:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – A Greenville sex offender was sentenced to 20 years in prison Tuesday after being convicted of downloading sexually explicit videos of children.
Frederick Chappell, 44, was found guilty of five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
He was supposed to do 20 years after his 1994 conviction but got out in ’05, so I suppose ten years from now he’ll be out and up to the same thing.
And you read that right, he was on the registry while downloading child rape videos. So much for that low recidivism rate.
All the signs were there for those who cared to look. 32-year-old Jennifer Mahoney lived a Peter Pan-esque life with her elderly father in the quiet suburb of Manalapan, NJ. The front lawn of the home they shared had whimsical, child-like decorations. Mahoney herself had a large back tattoo of fairies that purposely designed to seem like children’s art. Her online activity seemed to be that of a much younger person, though in all these things there was an odd undertone of sexualization that in hindsight made Mahoney’s shocking crimes predictable.
On her MySpace page Mahoney claims her weaknesses are “bad boys and cute girls” and aside from photos of herself like the ones above she has images of pedophile themed anime. She was, at least online, an active pedophile.
And someone let her babysit a 5-year-old girl.
She used that girl as a sexual prop for pornography she streamed over the Internet:
A complaint filed today charges Manalapan resident Jennifer Mahoney on two counts of sexual exploitation of a 5-year-old girl. Mahoney allegedly abused the girl on multiple occasions and streamed footage of the sexual assault over the internet, according to New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman and Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.
Mahoney, 32, is currently being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of $500,000 bail on related charges, including aggravated sexual assault of a minor, child endangerment, and child pornography. Mahoney will appear in front U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne J. Bongiovanni in Trenton federal court on Jan. 30.
“According to the Complaint, Jennifer Mahoney sexually assaulted a child, cavalierly recording and sharing the girl’s humiliation over video chat,” U.S. Attorney Fishman said. “We cannot forget that for every image or video of what we call ‘child pornography,’ a child will carry the lifelong scars of rape and abuse recorded for others’ gratification. Whether making, distributing or viewing child pornography, the depraved appetites of offenders create a market for the destruction of a child’s innocence.”
On Dec. 13, special agents of the FBI and other law enforcement executed a search warrant at Mahoney’s residence on Becket Rd. in Manalapan Township. Mahoney was arrested by Manalapan Police on that date. In an interview with the FBI she admitted to performing oral sex on the 5-year-old girl while she was babysitting her on two separate occasions in August and September of 2011, according to the complaint.
A computer had been seized by law enforcement in Texas which contained three videos of Mahoney having sexual contact with a child on Oct. 2, 2011, the complaint filed in Trenton federal court said. Mahoney live-streamed herself having sexual contact with the child to the Texas man over video chat via Skype.
Two of the videos found on the man’s computer consisted of the video chat where Mahoney is molesting the child, laughing, and talking to someone, believed to be the person on the other end of the video chat. Mahoney believed this man lived in Arizona, he is listed as a co-conspirator in the complaint. She e-mailed the video recordings of the sexual acts to this man and one other individual. She filmed the sexual assaults on her iPhone.
These videos are approximately four minutes in length and show Mahoney performing oral sex on the child while she appears to be asleep, lying on her stomach with her buttocks exposed. Mahoney is wearing a lace top which exposes her breasts and is kneeling at the foot of the bed while she is performing the sexual assault. Mahoney masturbates at one point during the assault, according to the FBI.
The third video recovered from the Texas man’s computer is less than a minute in length and it shows Mahoney sexually assaulting the child in a bathtub while Mahoney films the assault on her iPhone, the complaint said. Mahoney tells the little girl to bend over so that she can rinse her.
“Like a mermaid?” the child asks.
“Like a mermaid, sweetheart,” Mahoney responds, before penetrating the child with her finger.
The story gets worse. Mahoney in communications with another pervert on Facebook Mahoney bragged about the abuse and her attempts to drug the child:
Investigators were able to trace Mahoney after FBI agents raided the home of an alleged paedophile in Texas named as Robert Ramos Jr.
Police found ten videos featuring Mahoney on his laptop and were able to establish they had been made by Mahoney.
An FBI arrest warrant revealed that Ramos sent Mahoney a Facebook message saying:’I got the pics…amazing.’
In the same conversation Mahoney, a waitress, writes: ‘I have tried to give her stuff before, I gave her xanax but I was terrified of giving her too much so I gave her just crumbs and it didn’t do anything.’
The FBI warrants states that Mahoney ‘is … laughing during the video’ and is ‘talking to another person over the internet via webcam.’
As shocking as this is long time readers know that this is becoming more and more common. You cannot simply trust people you know because they’re women. The signs that there was something off about Mahoney were clear from her online activity and no doubt personal interactions with her did not leave people feeling she was a “together” person as we used to say. But people still trusted her with their children, and a child played the price for that misplaced trust.
She’s sitting in jail now and is planning on pleading not guilty according to her lawyer. I’ll love to hear that argument once the videos are shown.
If someone is going to be your babysitter check them out online. See what kinds of things they get up to when they think no one they know will notice.
