Occupy defenders will say that at least this time a lawyer representing the group called the cops. People with brains will note that the cops were called well after police knew the two were in the NY/NJ area. We also note that the 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were allowed to sleep at the camp with the adults. Word on the street is that the hospital visit for the runaways was detox:

MYFOXNY.COM – Two young runaways from Massachusetts were found living with Occupy Newark Protesters in Military Park. The Newark, N.J. police department was alerted to the 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl by a lawyer for the protest group.

The pair arrived at Military park on Sunday and camped overnight with protesters.  The teens reportedly ran away from their homes during the early morning hours on December 4, 2011 and made their way to Newark.

Connor Southard and Laura Dixon, who appeared to be unharmed, were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

Social workers responded to the hospital to interview the children and coordinate efforts with the police as well as authorities from Massachusetts.  Their parents have been notified about their safety.

Cameras captured the teens at South Station in Boston when they ran away, giving officials a lead that the teens were heading towards New York City.

The article has a picture of the kids so you can see there is not a chance in hell anyone mistook them for adults.

Again I ask, what kind of movement is populated by a bunch of people who want do drugs around teen runaways? Maybe Occupy Newark could answer that. I contacted them while writing this but got no response.

Tammy’s house had been broken into, her car had reportedly been stolen and there have been reports of her receiving death threats prior to disappearing.  From Fox Carolina:

After she went missing, Lewis’ family told FOX Carolina that it was not unusual for Lewis to go missing for a couple of days at a time, but this amount of time was unusual.

Police said at that time that they completed a search of Lewis’ home, but did not release the details of the search.

Lewis’ sister, Tiona Perry, said Lewis’ home was broken into three days before she went missing. She said Lewis also reported her car had been stolen before her disappearance.

Perry said she found a scene of disarray inside her sister’s home when she went to check on her. She said Lewis’ power had been cut and there was a strong smell of bleach inside, to which Lewis is allergic.

Now police have announced that 25-year-old Stephanie Bailey and 27-year-old Antwon Michael Quarles Jr. have been charged with the beating death of Tammy Lewis. Quarles is already sitting in the penn on federal parole violation charges so he hasn’t been served his arrest warrant yet. This sounds to me like Quarles got picked up and rolled on his girlfriend.

No motive has been announced yet but it’s likely drug related. WSPA has plenty of updates and the original video of the case:

Full disclosure – I’m friendly with Sierra’s grandmother Vicki who is a fellow pagan. She told me some information about this that’s private but the main story here is that 16-year-old Sierra Brinsfield has taken off to parts unknown with people unknown. Prior to this she was involved in “teen modeling” sites which are a scam by perverts to get teens to help them produce child porn.

Sierra has mostly models for “alternative’ modeling sites, which are basically fetish sites for people who get turned on by teens who shop at Hot Topic. These sites are also scams if they look for underage models.

Sierra may be in the company of an adult male, he might be from Canada and may be a BDSM fetishist which is why this story is so urgent.

Sierra is 16 and changes her hair color frequently. She has blue eyes, is 5’6″ and weighs approximately 110 pounds. She has several piercings, including in the nose, upper lip and navel. She also has tattoos including colored anchors on each side of her pelvic region and  flower on her foot with the name Angela on it.

At this point astute readers will correctly deduce that Sierra does not come from a stable, nurturing home.

But no matter what she thinks she isn’t better off dipping her toe into the shallow end of the Internet porn industry. I frankly don’ think she should be in her home, but should live with her grandmother who is, from my experience, a kind and well intentioned person with a lot of love to give.

I’m not sure where Sierra is but she is still posting new “modeling’ pictures online. If you run across her online on “modeling” sites report them because they are using an underage runaway to make money. Sierra if you’re reading this there are options for you besides this and your grandmother is willing to help you explore them, as am I and lots of other people. Please go home.

Desiree Hall has been missing since May 1st, 2011. She is 16-years-old, stands 5’9″ and weighs 119 pounds. She is from Rock Hill, South Carolina and is listed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as an endangered runaway.

Desiree has red hair but has died it brown with blond streaks. She has hazel eyes.

Greenville County and especially the downtown of Greenville proper is a popular layover for runaways, particularly in the summer months. She’s been missing since March 22nd and there isn’t much news on this one. The National Center for Missing and Explioted Children has this teen listed as missing and it is believed she may either be in the Traveler’s Rest area or may have passed through there. The girl ran way several times before so she may have developed a network of contacts on the street. Here’s the info:

A 3-year-old boy is missing from a home on the 200 block of McDaniel Avenue, according to Jason Rampey, spokesman for the Greenville police.

The child has blond hair and blue eyes. There is no reason to believe the boy has been taken; he may have walked off, according to Rampey. The boy’s mother last saw him when she put him to bed at 10:30 p.m.

Bloodhounds are being used to track the child.

She called to tell her family she was with a woman named “Nancy” who the family knew of but never met. It is reported “Nancy” had been giving the 12-year-old gifts, which is typical grooming behavior for pedophiles.

The the story got stranger:

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 12-year-old girl who disappeared while visiting relatives was found in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The girl, Pricella Ristick, was in Gwinnett County visiting relatives with her mother for a month. Ristick was at a Li’l Caesar’s pizza shop in Lilburn with her uncle when she disappeared outside the shopping center Sunday.

Ristick’s mother, Julia, told Channel 2’s Manuel Bojorquez she received a phone call from the girl a few hours after her disappearance. She said her daughter indicated that she was trapped.

“She told me, ‘Mom, I can’t get away,’” she recalled, as her eyes watered.

Ristick told her uncle, Joey Thompson, the same thing in a phone call from a blocked number on Wednesday, Gwinnett police Cpl. Edwin Ritter said in a news release. Ristick said she was in a building with many people, and they wouldn’t let her leave, Ritter said.

When Ristick called her uncle again, investigators took the phone, and she had a different story.

“She never indicated that she was in any sort of fear or danger and claimed she was fine,” Ritter said.

Ristick claimed she was at a Kroger in Atlanta, but investigators traced her phone to an intersection in Las Vegas, Ritter said. Las Vegas police then picked her up, and she was taken to Child Services. She said she caught a bus and had been there for one or two days.

Ristick’s family said there are still questions to be answered. They don’t understand how the girl reached Las Vegas because she left with $20 in her pocket.

“She’s not that smart, intelligent. Don’t have that kind of money to get all the way to Vegas,” uncle Leo Ristick said.

Leo Ristick also said he thinks someone else was with the girl when she called from Las Vegas. When she disappeared, some family members said she may have been with a woman she recently met, known only as Nancy. Leo Ristick said he asked to speak to Nancy.

“She says, ‘My uncle wants to talk to you.’ I could hear her whisper ‘No,’ and stuff like that,” Leo Ristick said.

Police said they are still sorting out the facts.

Judging by the fact that the uncle that had her selling flowers by a strip mall instead of studying and going to school told reporters he thought she was dumb the facts are probably that this girl has a douchebag family and was thus easy pickings for some pervert who took her on a getaway to a town where people mind their business. I am betting “Nancy” has convinced the girl they are in a relationship, which was why Pricilla ran off with her in the first place.

She’s safe now, and hopefully an investigation will lead to some arrests. I think an investigation of her family is probably also in order.
