Hopefully he also likes spending time in the joint and registering as a sex offender. This one’s a little outside Greenville County but it’s illustrative of the times and what kind of animals we’re dealing with these days.

This, my friends, is why you need to keep your windows and doors locked and should be prepared to take advantage of South Carolina’s Castle Doctrine.

HARTSVILLE—A man crept through a window in a Hartsville family ‘s home as they slept Friday, carried a 9-year-old girl from her bed and sexually assaulted her before trying to kidnap her from the house, Hartsville Police Chief Tim Kemp said.
Shortly after the crime was reported, police arrested Dearl James Douglas, 20, of 759 Azalea Circle in Hartsville and charged him with first-degree burglary, criminal sexual conduct with a minor and attempted kidnapping, Darlington County Detention Center bookings reports show.

It happened at 12:40 a.m. at a home on Swift Creek Road in Hartsville, when the suspect removed a screen from a back bedroom window and entered the home where a family was sleeping.

Police said the suspect walked into a 9-year-old’s bedroom and carried the sleeping girl to the room where he entered the home.

Witnesses said the girl was drifting in and out of sleep and thought it was a family member carrying her.

The suspect started to undressed the girl and that’s when she awoke, realized who it was and screamed, Kemp said.

The girl’s grandmother heard her cries and ran to investigate, he said.

The suspect escaped out the window while the grandmother called E-911.

The suspect was captured just a short distance from the family’s home.

Douglas was denied bond by a judge with some decency and common sense. Douglas’ relationship to the victim is unknown, but since he was quickly found it seems likely that he was positively identified early on. That tells me that someone knew him.

This story could have ended much worse. Had he simply taken her we would still be looking for her. Home security is your responsibility, the police are only there to mop up after a crime. Be prepared.

Less than a year ago Canadian folk singer Taylor Mitchell was killed by coyotes while hiking Cape Briton Island. A few months ago a series of coyote attacks in a residential Greenville neighborhood put locals on edge. On Butler Road there’s an unfinished office park (where the abandoned Pawleys is located) that is a popular spot for people to pick blackberries, and I have observed coyote tracks there and over the winter while out for an early morning walk saw a coyote running through that area.

Hogs are a growing problem for all of the south, partially because sport hunters were transplanting the fecund creatures to areas to create hunting opportunities. But the feral hog is a destructive, invasive species that breeds several times a year and can easily reach the 500lb range. They can be aggressive, so much so that even mainstream researchers have floated conspiracy theories about “super pigs” with Russian boar genes being bred in the wild.

Feral hogs have historically been vicious animals. Too many in an area will not only destroy the native ecosystem, but will lead to attacks on people. Observe:

My only confusion on this is that my understanding of DNR regulations was that night hunting could only been done with .22s and birdshot #4 or smaller. I assume the legislature amended the rules in terms of firearms since neither a coyote nor a boar could be taken humanely with a .22 or some birdshot. Although I’m told coyotes aren’t particularly hard to kill, you should probably use something a little stiffer than a .22 lr to ensure a quick, clean kill.

Of course this is all too little, too late. The problem coyotes are already in the urban areas, and the hogs aren’t far behind. Once they are established within the urban sprawl hunting can’t manage the animals because you simply cannot shoot at them safely.

Armadillos were also put on the list of animals legal to night hunt. I didn’t know we had them.

For all you pervs looking for a loophole, this new law includes teachers, substitutes, bus drivers, counselors, and coaches — basically anyone in a position of authority.

And if you’re thinking 18 is legal, think again, Chester. Teachers who have sex with 18-year-old students could pay a $500 fine and do 30 days in jail on a misdemeanor charge.

A hostage situation unfolded as SLED agents rushed to the scene.

In the end–more than half a dozen people were taken into custody–in what agents say is part of a growing drug trade in the Upstate.

This all unfolded on Sulfar Springs drive in Berea this afternoon.

News Channel 7 was the only news crew at the scene.

Agents handcuffed 7 people, taking them into custody.

The director of SLED tells us they got word this morning that three people were being held hostage inside the home.

SLED isn’t able to say how they were alerted to the hostage situation.

When swat team members and agents got there–a standoff ensued until the suspects inside surrendered.

Agents are still trying to determine who is who amongst those in the house. And they can’t yet give identities or where the suspects are from.

Significantly, while weapons were found at the house no drugs have been reported. Human smugglers are often also involved in drug smuggling so these thugs may have gotten on to LE radar during drug investigations. It is a common practice for “coyotes” to hold people who contracted with them to hostage for extra cash. It is especially likely when the illegals are young women, who the smuggling gangs force into prostitution.

Word on the street is that a bad apple looking for drugs or hookers turned Good Samaritan when he or she saw what was going on.

Also a rumor Dr. Know sent me is that MS-13 has been smuggling illegals into South Carolina for years and have moved into Greenville County. I found a 2006 story from WIS10 which details Richland county’s problems with the gang and they are very active in North Carolina.

But again these are  just rumors for now. We’ll keep digging.

I have gotten a few emails via the contact form from people (who for the most part claim to be women) claiming I’m being too rough on rapists, child rapists, flashers, public masturbaters and all the other assorted sexual deviants that make up the wild and woolly world of sex offenders. I am not interested in what the “ladies” (guttersluts) who carry water for people who’ve sodomized infants thin. Nor do I have any patience for some obese skank who wants to tell me that said infant sodomizer is a “good man” with a “kind heart” who just “made a mistake” that he deserves forgiveness for.

The most recent letter I got was from a woman who has contacted me before. A tedious woman, she has been beating the decomposing horse of an argument that logic had taken out and shot years ago, namely that I should be covering only “local” crime news and thus caring about online activity designed to support the abuse of children isn’t my business. These letters came in reaction to a piece I wrote about a pro-child rape group called SOSEN whose chief operating officer (who goes by the name “Randy English”) recently claimed that sex offender lists were racism … because Jessica Lundsford was White and people who hate child molesters are xenophobes. It was an asinine point and because SOSEN is a national organization whose activities are of concern to any parent I blogged about it.

“Susie Mae” was not happy and wrote me about it. I was, as usual, cordial and charming and sought to brush her off without acrimony. Which I thought worked until a few minutes ago when I received this email in all caps and three times the normal font size. I guess she was really mad:

It just seems you are gunning for sex offenders as a group. The sex registry is huge. It is full of all kinds of people, many of whom hardly did a thing. Urinated in public, teenagers having sex, etc…. I don’t know anything about this Randy but it just seems your site should be to report local crime.

I’m tired of these canards and I don’t want to hear them. In the future, before you decide to “school me” about how unfair it is that your man is locked up for “a misunderstanding” in which he was caught with pictures of children being raped, please read my response to Susie Mae. While the details may change, I assure you that the spirit of my answer to you will be the same:

Name three people on the registry for urinating in public. Name three teens on the registry for having sex. You’re either a retard who believes the most asinine of lies or (more likely) you’re one of the guttersluts that groupie around for sex offenders, no doubt giving them easy access to your children.

Shirley Lowery- The CEO of Sosen. She maintains that 9-year-old Jessica Lundsford had a “consensual relationship” with John Coey and that her vicious murder was an “assisted suicide”

Clay Keys – A Level 3 sex offender who once threatened to kill me. At the same time he lurked on social networks pretending to be a little girl and cyber stalked several activists.

Linda Pehrson – who is still married to the man who molested her daughter, and now claims the crime is no big deal. She’s also a con artist who uses assumed identities to give interviews and drum up support for her groups.

Jackie Sparling – Her husband was caught with another man trying to lure a 13-year-old to his home to become his sex slave, which included a plan to have her squeeze out children he would also abuse. Despite the fact that it would be impossible for a wife to not know he was planning this she was never charged and continues to work to promote the idea that crimes like his never happen.

The list goes on. Most are themselves people who have raped children and are now involved in a group that works to keep them from reforming. You don’t care because like the scum above you’re all tickled inside by the thought of bedding down one of these miscreants, but decent people do care.

How about this; Stop contacting me. If all you have to say is sex offenders are awesome and we should feel sorry for them you’re not going to find a sympathetic ear here. Why don’t we end this charade and you stop contacting me and I promise that if I ever meet a person who’s sodomized a child and needs a lap dance I’ll let you know.

One of the reasons I include so many women in my list above is to point out to you child rape groupies that I know what kind of person you are. There is no comparison to how sex offenders are treated and how Blacks were treated during Jim Crow, or how Jews were treated in Europe or whatever other kind of offensive nonsense you’re vomiting out between letting these perverts gag you while holding onto the pig tails they make you put in your hair.

I’m not interested. There is no debate as to whether people who rape children are evil. There is no possibility that a person who pleasures themselves to images of children being abused is being misunderstood. There is a right and a wrong here.

People who sexually exploit and abuse children have recidivism rates near 50% when they’re being watched. Registries are important tools for daycare centers, teen programs, single parents and any other person who has children to use to ensure they’re making the right choices for their kids. Violent felons aren’t allowed to own guns, they are on a registry. People with a history of DUI aren’t allowed to drive, they are on a registry. And people who abuse and exploit others for their own selfish sexual gratification aren’t allowed to become teachers or camp counselors.

They’re on a registry where they belong.

I don’t care how awesome you think your boyfriend or husband is. If he’s raped someone or molested someone he will not get sympathy from me, because I have morals. I save my sympathy for the victims, not the victimizers.

So before you bother to contact me, remember that I only care about the victims. Whatever sob story you’re peddling won’t change that.

Sam Young, 16, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and criminal sexual conduct Wednesday morning in a Greenville courtroom.

The judge accepted a recommendation of 25 years in prison during the sentencing phase of the hearing.

The judge called it “a tragic case.”

Nearly 40 members of Dymia Woody’s family were present. A News Channel 7 reporter spoke to some family members. They said they were displeased with the length of the sentence for Young and felt it should be longer.

The family is right. I wonder how long Young would have got if Dymia was White.

Note to the delicate flowers at WYFF – ALL teens look at porn, very few rape children to death afterward. The two are not related. Let’s not disrespect the dead by minimizing the evil of a murderer.

Young has been moved out of family court and will be tried as an adult now. The Woody family is finally going to get some closure. From Fox Carolina:

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The teen charged in connection with the slaying of a Greenville County girl nearly two years ago is expected to be in court on Wednesday.

In August 2009, a judge ruled that jurisdiction for the now 16-year-old Young be transferred to general sessions court instead of family court.

Prosecutors said that the ruling means that Young will be tried as an adult rather than a juvenile, which he had been charged as until Friday.

Marcia Barker, from the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, said that Young will be in court to plead, but did not say to what he will plead.

COLUMBIA – The state’s parole board today rejected one Greenville killer’s request for freedom and postponed action on another after the victim’s family appeared on his behalf.

The five-member panel voted unanimously to reject parole for Charles Goldie Williams, convicted in 1975 for killing three teenage girls, ordering their heads shaved and dumping their bodies in the Reedy River.

The GreenvilleOnline report says he ordered the girl’s heads shaved after killing them which I assume is yet another example of the hackery that goes into that so-called paper. Williams raped three teenage girls, murdered them, then shaved their heads and dumped their bodies in the Reedy River. It was a brutal crime by an evil individual and he belongs in jail. This is the 15th time he was denied parole and I hope for 15 more.

Now one Greenville neighborhood is practically under siege by the “American jackal” and residents are at a loss on how to solve the problem:

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Residents of a Greenville County neighborhood say their pets are being attacked and even killed by unexpected predators, and they are warning others to protect their pets from the danger.

People who live in the neighborhood along Crestline Road say they feel like they’re under attack.

The fear began with the death of 15-year-old sheltie named Maggie. She was attacked and killed in her own driveway.

Maggie’s owners said they found their dog’s body covered in puncture wounds just ten minutes after letting her out one night in late February.

Neighbor Ruth DeVorsey said, “The idea that it was killed by coyotes is terrible.”

A border collie up the road was also mauled, but its owners heard the attack and intervened in time to save the dog.

DeVorsey said, “That’s two animals within four houses attacked on the same night.”

Apparently the coyotes are so settled in the area that people have heard the howl at night. Coyotes are not unusual in South Carolina, but our exploding population of transplanted urban folk not used to dealing with these varmints is exacerbating the problems associated with these animals. Trapping and hunting coyotes is necessary to control their populations close to civilized areas. Unfortunately the Disneyfied view of nature Americans now have changed the fundamental understanding of our relationship with predatory wild animals. Even the local experts are giving out bad advice:

Wildlife experts say coyotes are afraid of humans. Small pets are most at risk.

Tell that to Taylor Mitchell, a 19-year-old Canadian folk singer who was mauled to death by a pack of coyotes less than a year ago. Lone coyotes may indeed be afraid of humans and target small animals, but a pack will attack large animals including humans if an opportunity presents itself.  An injured person alone, a person taking a nap by their favorite stream, a couple of teens hiding out in the woods to get high, all of these are targets of opportunity for the increasingly fearless coyote packs. Coyotes fear humans because we kill them, if we stop killing them in a couple of generations we see that fear dissipate and our contacts with these predators become more violent.

The same goes for many animals. Seattle, for example, has had a rash of raccoon attacks on dogs, cats, and people. In a recent case three raccoons came into a woman’s yard to attack her mini-pincher and when she screamed rather than flee one began attacking her. It was not rabid. Seattle has inadvertently created a raccoon population that does not fear humans, largely through so-called animal lovers encouraging the animals to live close to them by banning the harvesting of these creatures.

My advice to the Crestline Road area is to get yourself some dog food, snare wire (para-cord works in a pinch) and a book on trapping animals (like Dale Martin’s The Trapper’s Bible) and handle this problem before one of these coyotes kills one of your children.

At least we don’t have New Jersey’s black bear problem. Scientists there are warning that the population cannot be controlled without hunting, but who hunts in Jersey anymore?
