Never go anywhere with a assailant, no matter what. Even if they have a gun stay where you are and do not comply with demands to go anywhere else. In those cases he’s taking you to what’s called a secondary crime scene but you can just think of as where you’ll be raped and murdered. If he shoots or stabs you on the street you may survive. If you go with him to the woods or wherever he’s comfortable you definitely won’t.

MAULDIN, S.C.  (Aug. 10) Just a few months after completing its financial restructuring, Bi-Lo reportedly is for sale, according to published reports.

Reuters reported that the chain, which operates 207 stores across four states and is owned by Lone Star Funds, is being pursued by Kroger and Publix. Recently, Bi-Lo launched a health-and-wellness initiative called Thrive, which is designed to educate shoppers on healthy living alternatives. Bi-Lo also revealed itself as a “stronger, better” supermarket chain late last month at the grand reopening of its Greer, S.C., location.

“This redesigned store represents all the great things Bi-Lo is doing to provide customers tremendous savings without having to sacrifice the quality and service they desire,” Michael Byars, president and CEO of Bi-Lo, recently said. “We are proud of our teammates’ hard work on this collective effort and we look forward to exceeding the expectations of our customers.”

Lone Star declined to comment to the press regarding this matter.

Nothing says the economy is getting better than a chain of supermarkets being sold to the competition.

Right now it hasn’t been confirmed that they are evil jellyfish, mutant jellyfish or aliens that look like jellyfish but we’ll find out soon enough! What we do know now is that Folly Beach is under attack by swarms of these stinging sea drifters and there have been hundreds of stings. It’s like a horror movie … except with jellyfish stings instead of gruesome deaths.

FOLLY BEACH — Tom Borum was trying to beat the heat with a cool dip in the Atlantic when –Zaappp!– a nasty little sting hit him right in the calf.

Borum heard his fiancee cry out. Something zinged her beneath the waves as well, leaving a trail of red marks behind.

They scrambled back to the beach Thursday and found others smarting from similar attacks. One little girl screamed on the sand as her mother tried to comfort her.

“I’ve been coming here since I was born,” said Borum, a 59-year-old visitor from Maryland. “I’ve never run into this kind of thing.

Welcome to the invasion of the jellyfish.

Hundreds of stings from these translucent blobs have been reported along the Charleston County coastline since last weekend. Some suspect a swarm of jellies rode in with strong onshore winds and roiling surf. Others wonder if a shift in the Gulf Stream or this week’s blast of thunderstorms are to blame. Whatever the reason, they are here — in force.

“We’ve had a dramatic increase in stings this week,” said Nikki Bowie, safety program manager for the county Parks and Recreation Commission. “It’s not only the number of stings, but the severity.”

The beach parks normally see just a couple of reported stings a month, if any at all. Isle of Palms, however, had 162 reported stings last Sunday and another 186 jellyfish run-ins on Tuesday. The number of reported stings on Folly Beach jumped from 15 on Wednesday to 150 the following day, Bowie said. Several stings also were reported at Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island, she said.

One victim was stung four times in one day! Stay out of the water people.

Unconfirmed: A source (my imagination) says that this jellyfish army is controlled by one monster jellyfish awakened by the Gulf Oil spill who the other  jellyfish worship as a god.

Family Circle Magazine has named Simpsonville to its annual list of “10 Best Towns for Families: 2010.”

The magazine picked Simpsonville as one of its “perfect places to raise kids” and ranked the city among the top in the country for its affordable home prices, parks and recreation, schools and giving spirit.

The article in the issue that launched July 7 lauds Simpsonville’s family friendly atmosphere, its Freedom Weekend Aloft festival and local parks and recreation facilities, such as the Golden Strip YMCA and the Discovery Island Water Park.

“We have focused for many years now in building a family friendly community and trying to provide places and opportunities for families to spend quality time together,” Mayor Dennis Waldrop said. “This in my mind confirms what we have tried to accomplish.”

Residents feel safe with a low crime rate and can enjoy a small-town atmosphere downtown or numerous parks and recreational facilities, Waldrop said.

“I think if you look at the entire community and look at the atmosphere around here, how could they not choose us?” he asked.

Living in Mauldin I often find myself in Simpsonville and thinking I should have just moved there. It’s got some great restaurants, nice parks and a 24-hour Bi-Lo. If you’re looking to move down here you could do worse than Simpsonville.

Duke Energy has an outage map online. According to their estimates nearly 8,000 people in the West Greenville area are currently without power.

Organizer Beth Brown (also known as Throttle Fox) decided to hold the first annual Southern Throttle Motorcycle Rally in Heritage Park because of Myrtle Beach’s new ordinances targeting bikers. From the Tribune-Times:

When Beth Brown rides her Harley Davidson motorcycle through Simpsonville or Greenville or the nearby mountains, she envisions the Upstate as a destination for motorcycle riders from across the Southeast.

Now she wants to bring those riders here.

She expects more than 3,000 bikers to cruise into Simpsonville June 4-5 for a new two-day rally at Heritage Park. Others have told her to expect 5,000-10,000 bikers, she said.

The Southern Throttle Motorcycle Rally is being organized by Greenville event-management company Epic Events. Brown, the event’s organizer, hopes the rally will become an annual draw.

Which may be good news for the city of  Simpsonville and Greenville County, specially since the the Simpsonville City Council recently expanded the alcohol ordinance to allow sales at public events. Like biker rallies.

The bad news? Over the years several 1%er clubs have been active in South Carolina including The Hell’s Angels, The Pagans, and The Warlocks but as far as I know there is no one gang whose territory is Greenville. So out of the few thousand that show up to this rally we can expect some gangs who are rivals. Despite assurances to the contrary, the outlaw biker culture is still very active, very dangerous and very attracted to rallies like this.

Strippers and other “adult workers” should be especially careful during this rally as many gangs make money through the extortion and abuse of these women. The Breed were caught doing this in 2000 and that case is typical of how 1%er gangs operate.

Greenville County residents should be on the lookout for Keith Waters (pictured above) who North Carolina authorities allege stabbed his wife in the chest early this morning. When deputies arrived on the scene a little after 4:30am the suspect’s wife was lying on the floor with a stab wound in her chest and Waters had already fled. It is believed he may be heading to Greenville, South Carolina and he is of course considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Waters left the scene in a White Cadillac Escalade with NC license tag XXV-4056.

Once he is located, deputies plan to charge him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.  They think he may be heading to Greenville, SC.

PICKENS, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Corrections said that an inmate walked away from his work assignment at the Pickens County landfill on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said that Christopher Daniels was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted in Anderson County of third-degree arson in March 2009.

Daniels is 6 feet 3 inches tall, 230 pounds and has brown hair.

Anyone with information about Daniels’ whereabouts was asked to call the State Law Enforcement Division at 803-737-9000.
