GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Greenville County deputies said an armed man robbed a Citgo store in Greenville about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday and they were searching the area for the suspect.

Deputies said the robbery happened at the Citgo gas station at 2020 N. Pleasantburg Drive when a male wearing a dark bandana walked into the store, showed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.

The man left the store and possibly got into a vehicle, according to investigators. He was about 5’6″ tall and 140 pounds wearing a black hoodie and a white shirt over it, tan pants and gray gloves.

There is also no description of his vehicle. So when you’re out there be on the alert for every young guy.

I’m not for racial profiling, etc but when you’re alerting the public to a dangerous person on the loose you should probably put in as much detail as possible – including race.

This past Sunday, The Greenville Times Union headline read, “Man Fatally Shot a tWaffle House. ” When it really should have said “Waffle House Armed Robbery attempt halted by Armed Citizen.” Or something to that degree, wouldn’t you all agree? I mean if you’re a sensationalist newsman, doesn’t that sound infinitely more exciting than “Man Killed at Waffle House. Well, it’s just another prime example of the media sympathizing with a deceased thief rather than either (A.) Empathizing with the poor souls who were terrified and held hostage or (B). Highlighting the swift justice from armed citizens. Ok, now I know that last part is stretch. But why wouldn’t our community be thrilled to know someone decided to not be a victim. And maybe shed light more often to the crime element that “Don’t Start No Stuff, Won’t Be No Stuff.” Or as my Mom used to day “crime does not pay.”

If you don’t have your permit, go get it. I can assure you once you carry it around for a couple months there’s not a lot more comforting. And oh, remember something else you heard someone’s mom or dad say in the past – “nothing good ever happens after midnight.”

Wells survived his injury and the couple emerged unscathed. Good news all around, right?

Not to WSPA who originally titled the story on their website something along the lines of Homeless Man Shot in Face by Owner of House he Was Staying At. The updates story is titled NO Charges Filed Against Homeowners who Shot Homeless Man Staying at their House.

I sense an agenda here. See, claiming he was staying at their house implies he was a guest. He was not, he was a criminal entering another person’s home. A trespasser. When he was caught in the home he attacked the owners.The headlines are intended to create the perception that the homeowners did something wrong. They did not, they defended their lives and property from predation by one of those in our society that lack the moral compass which keeps us from hurting others, physically or financially.

Why would WSPA go through such convolutions in their headline to paint this as some sort of tragedy? Well, it could be the media’s coming “war on guns” that was spurred by the failure of Fast and Furious. Some readers may not be aware that many liberal journalists organize online – with the leftist political structure – to decide what spin to give stories. one of 2012s big pushes in the media will be the “evil” of gun ownership in America. The influx of Northeaster Liberals into the Carolinas is creating momentum for this view on the ground and the liberals in the media are going to stoke the fires so that Obama can push through the draconian gun control measures the left has been pushing for.

Don’t fall for it.

Really? I assume the journalist who wrote this piece knows the criminal involved and can tell us for sure he wasn’t carrying a gun in his pocket, or a knife or some pepper spray, or hiding a steel pipe up his sleeve, etc. I know that they don’t require you to take logic courses in journalism programs but it seems to me that the idea that if you didn’t see something it isn’t there would raise eyebrows even at WYFF. You don’t see the air for example. Do we live on an airless planet?

This is important because this person is potentially armed and dangerous but the reporters are turning him into a joke. The next clerk may recognize him and decide he’d rather rough up this kid – then get shot in the face.

There’s one thing and one thing only blogs and news sites have in common. we both exist to get the word out to people. For years “journalists” have abandoned that mission in favor of political agendas. Or in this case out of sheer ineptitude.

While investigting drug use and gang activity at a couple of “Oriental” massage parlors Anderson county deputies stumbled onto prostitution. Casey Vaughn of Fox Carolina was just shocked by this and wrote it up with the headline Deputies: Women offer sex, not massages at spa parlors. Because no one knew that massage parlors were bordellos until this story broke.

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) – Deputies arrested two women in a sting operation at Anderson County spa and massage parlors.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the operation was conducted by Narcotics Investigators and Gang Task Force officers at two different parlors in Anderson.

The two female employees were arrested on Nov. 3 after they attempted to solicit prostitution for money with undercover officers, according to deputies.

Deputies said they began the investigation after several complaints about illegal activities were occurring at the businesses.

Myoung Hee Tucker, 54, of Atlanta, worked at Bella Spa on Community Park Drive in Anderson. Xiang En Jin, 42, of Flushing, NY, worked at Spring Sauna Spa on Will Pine Road in Anderson. Both were charged with prostitution.

Yeah, call me old fashioned but maybe a couple of vice cops could have just randomly walked in, looked around and had the place shut down. But hey, who am I to deny detectives their dream of going undercover in a massage parlor.

Does anyone else wonder how these bordellos get business licenses in the first place? And why only certain “spas” get shut down? Hmmmm.

Fox Carolina is reporting on what has to be the world’s dumbest caper, complete with the perps having their car and video taped in front of the store. But they don’t mention the most interesting thing. The above surveillance  pic seems to show a young man dressed up like Norman Bate’s mother breaking into a fabric store. I would just think this was an interesting tid bit that a report might mention:

Greenville Police said that officers responded to a front glass break alarm on Oct. 13 at about 4:23 a.m. at the Glidden Professionals store at 101 Verdae Blvd. in Greenville.

Police said the right front door’s glass was broken out. After searching the business, no suspects were found.

According to an incident report, the store owner’s said the only thing missing was the cash register’s money drawer containing approximately $50.

Video surveillance from the neighboring BILO store did not show a suspect vehicle arriving or leaving the scene.

According to another incident report, officers were called to the Hancock Fabrics store in the same shopping center on Oct. 13 at 6:30 a.m.

A fabric store employee said that nothing was missing and the safe was still locked, but the front left door’s glass had been shattered, according to the report. The cash register had been tampered with but the report did not say if any money was stolen.

The incident report said that a surveillance video from the fabric store showed a suspect pulling up in front of the store in a blue or dark color four-door vehicle around 4 a.m.

The video showed a suspect striking the door with a baseball bat and handing it off to another person before entering the store through the opening in the door.

The report said the suspect wearing dark gloves and a light brown stocking cap looking for something to take but leaving when he did not find anything of value.

Police said the suspect appeared to be driving a dark-colored, early 90s Nissan Maxima.

OK, it could be a pair of baggy shorts and a blue sweatshirt. But I’m telling you that looks like a blue house dress to me. And he/she seems to be wearing the kind of slippers my great-grand mother was fond of. Strange stuff.

Anyway, while prices had been dropping they are up again, and will probably move up again, drop, then move up. The days of cheap gas are over so get used to it and don’t let the media tell you being a few cents down here or there is good news.

Deputies said four men entered the restaurant through the back door with guns, robbed the place, and escaped out the back door.

The second robbery happened at Pasteleria Y Panaderia El Nino on 1127 Cedar Lane Road.

Deputies said one male entered the restaurant while another male stood outside the restaurant on the look out.

Investigators said there was also a black 4-door car that the men got out of that sat in front of the restaurant that had 2 other males inside the black 4-door car.

Then, someone saw the man inside attempting to rob the restaurant so they called 911.

The man standing outside the restaurant took off and left the suspected robber inside.

There is a better description of the car than the robbers! WSPA goes on to report that cops have one robber in custody – so they probably have a description of the others since most thugs roll on their friends within an hour or two. But I guess until that’s released here’s what to look for:

The shooting happened at 4:50am.

Call me crazy but people who work the night shift usually go home and get some sleep afterward. There aren’t many stable people who are getting drunk at 5:00 in the morning and heading to their cars to drive home. Drunk.

But I digress. The shooting, as the almost intrepid Paul Alongi of the Greenville News fails to point out, was a bar fight gone bad with a stranger no one seems to know. An altercation earlier in the night led to the shooter getting tossed out. Like any good belligerent drunk he didn’t take kindly to that and mayhem ensued. Three of the shooting victims are expected to pull through but police have no description of the man or his car, so I expect him to be on the loose for awhile.

Why bars are built in places only accessable to cars is a mystery we’ll never really figure out – though I expect it has to do with city planners factoring in DUI fines for upcoming budgets. But for those of you who don’t know why this crime happened let me enlighten you.

Drunks suck.

The only thing worse than a drunk is a room full of drunks, or what we call a bar. Bars are caverns of misery where unhappy people go to pretend their lives are still worth living – which is why there’s so much sex in the bathrooms. If you don’t want to end up in a fight with someone who might come back and bust a cap in you your first step will be to stay out of bars that serve drinks until 5:00 in the morning next to a highway.

I’m sure Hailee’s is one of the nicer places that gets people buzzed before putting them in their cars so they can kill the rest of us in “accidents” but even the nicest bar is a place people gather whose lives are not where they wanted them to be. Happy people don’t need to get drunk, angry people do. Angry people who drink tend to get angrier.

So if there is one lesson to be learned here it’s that drunks really suck and you should stay away from anyone who thinks it’s fun to drink until they vomit, blackout and wake up with a warrant for attempted murder.

Hmmm. Odd, alcohol is legal yet there is crime and social ills related to drinking. But I thought once something was legal crime and abuse disappeared? Libertarians I’m looking at you.

Sabotage! Where would people get that idea:

Sabotage could have played a part in a horrific miniature train derailment which left a six-year-old boy dead and 28 others injured, officials said.

The sinister twist came as a memorial service was held for Benjamin Easler, who died in the crash, at the church where his father is the pastor in Charleston, South Carolina.

Neighbouring Greenville county, which runs a similar miniature train at one of its parks, said that the crash was not an accident.

Greenville’s recreation commissioner John Liston told MailOnline for the train to come off its tracks on its own would be unlikely.

‘It doesn’t go that fast. It would take an act of sabotage,’ he said.

Oh really?

The lead agency investigating the weekend crash of a miniature train at Cleveland Park in Spartanburg says there is no evidence of “sabotage.”

Capt. Art Littlejohn with the Spartanburg Public Safety Department said investigators have found no evidence of that, adding that Saturday’s crash was a tragic accident.

“We don’t have any indication that it was foul play whatsoever,” Littlejohn said.

Talk of sabotage appears to stem from a quote given to The Greenville News by a Greenville County Recreation Department commissioner. That quote has led to a firestorm of speculation on the Internet by national and international media outlets.

In other words John Liston, aided by the awful Greenville News, spread a conspiracy theory that came straight out of his ass. Nice.

Go ahead and Google this moron’s name, there you’ll see hundreds of hits for people who are still spreading this hokum. I’m sure that when the grieving family runs across this stuff later in life they’ll appreciate Liston’s words of wisdom.

Nice job checking into whether or not Liston was talking out his ass before helping him kick off this firestorm Richard Walton. It’s just a story about a dead kid so why tread cautiously.
