CCW Instructor Arrested for Perjury

Frankly I’m against requiring courses for people to utilize their Constitutional rights and as Guns.com points out there’s no empirical evidence that such courses reduce gun related accidents. But the law is the law and this guy was breaking it. What makes this important is that the media is pushing for his students to be arrested as well, even though they may have thought nothing illegal was going on:

If you take a CCW course please make sure your instructor is being above board or you might end up in trouble for something that is easy to avoid.

This is a good reminder for those of you out there thinking about it – get the 8 hours. Don’t think you know it it all and can skimp. Part of the privilege AND the RIGHT is being responsible.

On another note – you are more likely to get hit by a car than you are to accidentally shoot yourself. And kids are more likely to drown in a swimming pool than get dad’s gun and shoot his baby brother. Those are just statistical facts. But you don’t see Swimming Pool Control groups waving their hands in the air about that.
