Degenerate Pervert Anthony Briggs Gets Life in Prison

Child molesters and their groupies always try to minimize their crimes by claiming two things which are completely untrue. The first is that children want to have sex with them. The second is that all perverts are not the same. While the first is patently false, sometimes people fall for the second.

After all a man who sleeps with a 15-year-old is not the same as a man who molests a 5-year-old, right? A child molester and a wife beater are not the same, right?

Wrong. As I have pointed out on other blogs rapists and perverts will molest a variety of victims and pedophiles are not “differently oriented” than the rest of us. They prefer abusing someone who is complying either through force or manipulation. It is the unnaturalness of the act and the power over the victim they enjoy, not the specific age. Thus often the man who has sex with a teen will molest a toddle and will beat his old lady. They will do anything evil to get their fix of domination over others.

Which is apparently what Anthony Briggs did:

A Chesnee man was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl on multiple occasions.

Anthony N. Briggs, 26, was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and lewd act on a minor. He received a concurrent 15-year prison sentence for the lewd act conviction. Briggs is not eligible for parole.

A friend of the family reported the assaults to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 2, 2009. The child, who was 5-years-old at the time of the report, described the sex acts in detail during an examination at the Children’s Advocacy Center, according to a written statement from the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Briggs was the live-in boyfriend of the girl’s mother.

Briggs’ criminal record includes prior convictions for driving under the influence, disturbing schools, grand larceny, criminal domestic violence, fraudulent checks and simple assault and battery.

Domestic violence, fighting, lurking around school and passing bad checks. Briggs wasn’t just interested in molesting children but hurting others, which all his actions were aimed at. In fact it’s probably the case that Briggs molested the child as a way to hurt the child’s mother.

Now he’s going away for life, which isn’t the execution he deserves but at least he’s facing justice. Let’s hope he meets someone just like himself in prison.
