Easley Standoff Ends Peacefully

Thankfully no one was seriously injured. This story began in the early evening when William Laurenano had the cops called on him for domestic violence. When police arrived he barricaded himself in his home claiming to have a gun and taking his teen son hostage. The standoff ended last night with no casualties and Laurenano cooling his heels in jail.

From Fox Carolina:

According to deputies, the incident began as a domestic dispute between the suspect, William Laurenano and a woman believed to be his wife or girlfriend inside their home located on Shenandoah Drive. The woman fled the house and called police from a business on Pelzer Highway.

When deputies arrived at about 5 p.m., they said Laurenano barricaded himself and his 18-year-old son in the house. Deputies also told FOX Carolina that the man said he had a gun.

Deputies said the man eventually let his son go at about 10 p.m., before surrendering about two hours later.

Let’s hope this time in jail causes him to do some reflection about where his life is heading.
