Elevated Radiation Levels Detected in South Carolina

From WRAL:

Raleigh, N.C. — Very low levels of radioactive Iodine 131 have been detected in the air throughout the U.S. as a result of nuclear leaks at the Fukushima plant in Japan, Progress Energy officials said Saturday.

Iodine 131 is a form of radiation typically released into the air by nuclear reactors.

Progress Energy spokesman Drew Elliot said very sensitive equipment at the utility’s Robinson and Crystal River nuclear plants, in South Carolina and Florida, respectively, detected iodine radiation in the atmosphere, but said it did not pose a health threat for U.S. residents.

The levels are still too low to affect anyone so it’s nothing to worry about … yet. But you do have some potassium iodate tablets just in case, right?

perhaps we’ll get lucky and it’ll be enough to sterilize the population of south carolina – we sure as heck don’t need any more of you

um… wtf? why if this is called Greenville Dragnet does it attract soooo many people who “aren’t from around here” to post and say things like that? (see anonymous above). FYI, I’m not from around here, but have been here for 20 years. Long enough to know it’s a great place to live and raise children.

i was from there – it’s a great place to raise close minded bigoted children who should not reproduce! however i do miss never having to really pay taxes. good luck with that! can’t wait til sc is on the gold standard, seceded, and financially insolvent.

everyone there will be slaves to the companies who bought the state! oh wait you gave the state away by not charging any corporate taxes and making a “right to work” state!

Are you people stupid? Most of the time when they say the levels of radiation are it really means that they are way higher than “acceptable levels”. Radiation won’t help your pathetic little peckers it will attack your thyroid and give you cancer. The anonymous commenter is a globalist pig. People we are in deep shit and it’s getting closer to SC, TSA, Green police, random check points with TSA, GMO, the federal reserve, and FEMA camps, by the way there is two FEMA Camps in SC one in Greenville – Unoccupied youth prison camp; total capacity unknown and one in Charleston – Naval Reserve & Air Force base, restricted area on naval base. When TSA gets here you people need to clean your rifles and use them.
