Extra Sugar Not So Sweet in New Jersey Dunkin’ Donuts

Police in Rockaway Township New Jersey found that 29-year-old Melissa Redmond was offering something hotter than coffee while working the overnight shift at a Dunkin’ Donuts located on Route 49. A good Samaritan/busy body tipped off police to Redmond’s illegal additions to the menu and a sting dubbed operation Extra Sugar was set up. Because I guess a patrol cop couldn’t just come out during one of her breaks.

The operation name was taken from the codeword Melissa used for customers. From News World Wide:

Melissa Redmond 29 has been working at night shift at Dunkin Donuts. She faces charges of prostitution.

According to Detective Sgt. Kyle Schwarzmann that was leading investigation to this case said that he received an unknown tip. Melissa was a night time worker and was a very good one. Soon he started collecting info and performed a number of investigations. There he came to know that Melissa Redmond was reaching cars to meet customers and there she would spend 10 to 15 mins.

Schwartzman added that he also saw money changing hands and sometimes the cars would stay in the parking lot and other times they would drive to another nearby location.

An undercover operation was developed with the assistance of Officer Robert Koehler and Officer Scott Haigh acting as the undercover “John.”

“He went in plain clothes through the drive-thru window,” Schwarzmann said. “He spoke to her and she said if he wanted a good time to call her and she gave him her phone number.”

Haigh parked in the parking lot and Redmond allegedly came out, approached him and gave him a particular price list for her services.

Haigh returned on one more instance and asked about her services, was offered a new, and lower, price so he said he wanted to go to a bank machine but would return with the money.

When Haigh returned, they drove to the back of the building and the arrest was made. Redmond was then processed, served her complaint and released.

It sounds like she wasn’t being trafficked which makes the money spent on the operation a bit of a waste, on the other hand I don’t want people handling my food handling people’s junk on their breaks. The Blaze has a video report that claims Redmond charged between $50-$100 for various sex acts which seems like street walker prices. I’ll assume drugs were involved.

The Post Chronicle has a statement from Redmond saying she’s not “some whore” but just had a lot of friends who did her favors. The also published a picture from her Facebook of her posing by a cheap outdoor grill in a sexy school girl outfit.

Luckily I’m more of a Krispy Kreme fan anyway. After this I’m a little grossed out by the glaze on a Dunkin’ Donut.
