Greenville County Deputies Investigating Possible Meth Lab in Piedmont

This is a developing story that broke just before noon. From Fox Carolina:

PIEDMONT, S.C. — Greenville County deputies said they are investigating a possible methamphetamine lab found at a home in Piedmont on Thursday.

The possible lab was found at 117 Emily Lane just before noon.

Deputies said that five people were being questioned in connection with the investigation.

WPSA is reporting that deputies arrived at the house this morning attempting to serve a warrant on one of the residents when they saw what looked like meth cooking material.

Update: Hazmat crews were on scene and the people inside the building were reported to have gone through decontamination which would seem to confirm the presence of a meth lab:

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Vice & Narcotics Unit responded to the scene in order to determine the extent of the incident.

Five people inside the home, three men and two women, were questioned by investigators, but there was no word of any arrests at noon.

Deputies said a tarp was set up outside the residence, out of view of any neighbors, in order to decontaminate the people found inside the home.

No word on arrests yet.

Update 2: Five Piedmont residents were charged with manufacturing methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia:

  • Cliffton Charles Allison, 29
  • James Anthony Lusk, 34
  • Ricky Lee Horne, 28
  • Tracy Denise Hollingsworth, 34
  • Amanda Rose Fowler, 28
