Murderer Cameron Hammonds Gets Life Sentence

More than two years after killing a man in Greenville, 29-year-old Cameron Hammonds has been sentenced to life in prison, court records show.  GreenvilleOnline.com details Hammonds’ crime:

Hammonds shot Lee Travis Kanard nine times after an argument outside a Queen Street home, prosecutors said.

The argument began after Hammonds confronted Kanard about an alleged theft and beating of his brother, prosecutors said.

The circuit judge sentenced Hammonds to an additional five years for possessing a weapon during a violent crime, but even without that sentence, he’ll be spending the rest of his life behind bars with no opportunity for parole.  No hug-a-thug justice for this violent offender.
