Raymond Groves Arrested for 2005 Murder
Police aren’t saying what evidence led to this arrest but they must feel pretty solid. Little outside our area but a cold case being closed is a big deal.
From WSPA:
Investigators have made an arrest in a five year old cold case. On Tuesday morning, a murder suspect is due in court for an initial appearance.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Bamboo Garden Restaurant on the Highway 28 Bypass back in October 2005.
Investigators said James Wells was walking to his car when he was gunned down in an attempted robbery.
According to warrants, Raymond Groves is charged with murder in Wells’ death.
Investigators have not said what led to his arrest so many years later, but more details are expected later Tuesday.
There’s a press conference scheduled any minute now to give more details.
Pamela Daniels Doesn’t Like Competition … Even From the Cops
Twenty-six men were arrested in a prostitution sting in Greenville. Along with them was one woman, named Pamela Daniels who was charged with “interfering with law enforcement” which usually people get hit with when they get mouthy with a cop who’s otherwise occupied. So let’s break this down.
A prostitution sting nets mostly male scumbags and losers (pics can be found here) which would suggest said sting involved a female decoy of some type.
The one woman arrested (who has the look of a drug addict) is charged with interference.
Anyone want to bet that Pam saw some new girl on her corner and didn’t like it? Either that or she was caught warning “Johns” away from the cop.
Concerns Growing Over Missing College Student
The subtext of this video is that Eric Robertson may have harmed himself or succumbed to an illness, but it’s too early to rule out foul play if you ask me.
From WSPA:
Nigel Edward Fuller Has a Hair Trigger
Police caught the man who fired 20 shots in a Greenville Restaurant parking lot which injured one man and damaged the business. Nigel Edward Fuller was arrested today on charges of attempted murder among other things. The motive: Two groups of men got into an argument.
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Police have charged a man in connection with a shooting outside a store earlier this week.
The shooting happened outside Ronnie’s Kitchen on Old Augusta Road on Tuesday night.
Sgt. Ervin Brewster, of the Greenville Police Department, said one man was suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. He said that man was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he was expected to recover from his injuries.
Brewster said that two groups of men got into an argument in the parking lot of the restaurant. He said that one group pulled out a gun and fired about 20 shots.
Unless Fuller was packing a extended magazine, or a .22 sub-gun replica like the Kel-Tec PLR-22 or a Smith & Wesson Mp15-22 then Fuller was not the only shooter or he did a quick reload. Since the victim was not injured badly the .22 explanation seems likely.
Genius: Greenville Police Announce Weekend Patrol Cutbacks … To The Media
Who then tell the mobs of people who were the problem. I understand that given the financial situation of the greater Greenville area the idea of a 20 man weekend patrol dedicated just to making sure kids weren’t raising hell downtown could never be a permanent solution. Unlike the Greenville P.D., the local media and Democrats in general I also understand that there’s no benefit in telling the enemy when you’ll be pulling out. Now that police have announced this cutback, how long will it be before the “youth” (some of whom were in their 20s so they were not kids) start brawling in the streets again?
After several calm weeks downntown, Greenville Police will be cutting back on the number of officers enforcing the city’s curfew, starting this weekend.
The department will reduce the number by half, from 20 to “about 8 or 9″, according to spokesman, Sgt. Jason Rampey.Rampey says that the message has gotten out, and fewer teens have ventured downtown on weekends in recent weeks.
He also thinks the beginning of the school year has affected the numbers.City leaders enacted the curfew last summer, after mobs of several hundred teens were caught on camera causing problems.
Don’t want to be a naysayer but if you have young people who run the streets at night brawling and stealing if there aren’t cops around in a state with an atrocious drop out rate I’m going to go ahead and say there’s enough of a crossover between the two groups to make the whole “school’s in so we’re safe” theory bogus. I’m betting that many of the victims of attacks are gone, but that just means the muggers will have to come after adults instead of teens who can be lured into the park with the promise of K2.
Good work guys. Maybe I should issue a press release to tell you when my house is empty for your next slow news day.
