Police Impersonator Who Pulled Over Lone Woman Released on His Own Recognizance?

On October 11th, 2009,  37-year-old Kerry James Miler was caught impersonating a police officer. More disturbing was that he had pulled a woman over for a traffic stop. The fake cop gambit, popular with rapists and other degenerates, was thankfully broken up before anything happened.

Miler was released on his own recognizance however, in a move that illustrates authorities aren’t taking this incident as seriously as they should. From the Greenville Police Crime Report:

IMPERSONATING OFFICER S. PLEASANTBURG & E. ANTRIM 10/11/2009 SUNDAY 1456 10/11/2009 SUNDAY 1500 37-YEAR-OLD KERRY JAMES MILER WAS ARRESTED AFTER HE FALSELY IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS A POLICE OFFICER AND HAD A WOMAN PULL OFF THE ROADWAY AT THIS LOCATION FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC INCIDENT. MILER WAS ARRAIGNED AND RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE THE SAME DAY.

The court records for Miler are available here and here. Let’s hope he stays out of trouble while he’s out.
