Police Looking for Pair Who Robbed ‘Rugged Warehouse” on Haywood Rd
I’ve never been to “Rugged Warehouse” and this might be the city boy in me talking but it sounds like a gay men’s fetish club. Their website seems to indicate they’re some sort of discount clothing chain. I haven’t seen any review of the store and can’t be bothered to go their myself to check it out, but I did see that they have an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau.
Not that any of that matters to the story:
Police in Greenville are looking for two men involved in an attempted armed robbery at the Rugged Warehouse on Haywood Road.
Investigators say it happened around 11 p.m. on December 23 when the suspects, described as two black males, forced employees back into the store as they were leaving for the night.
One of the men had a handgun and pistol whipped the manager after the alarm sounded, according to employees.
They say the two men made off without getting any money.
If you have any information that may help investigators, you’re urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
Hope they catch the two men who wanted to “pistol whip” other men in the back room of “Rugged Warehouse.” I suggest checking the Out of Bounds bookstore.
Anna Lane Featherston Does Not Like Paying Her Bills

Or appearing in court. Anna Featherston was arrested for passing bad checks and failure to appear a few days ago. She had owned a shop in Greenvile called Cupcake Couture which was, according to WSPA, fined at least four times by the Department of Labor for failing to pay employees. She declared bankruptcy and sold the store almost a year ago.
Then started forging checks. Sad. People who worked for her say she’s bad with money. Her mugshot makes it look more like she’s good with drugs. Tomayto/tomahto.
Word on the Street: Escort Gets Robbed, Refuses to Call Cops

Which is odd since there have been several cases recently when escorts did go to cops after being robbed, but maybe those girls got charged quietly after the publicity died down. Anyway there’s a rumor that one of the online working girls showed up at an appointment where the john was waiting at a motel with a gun and surrounded by drugs. He drew down on her and demanded her money and she fled, thankfully without getting shot. I’m told she took to the Backpage and other “adult” sites to expose the number he used – but since he probably stole that phone I’m not sure how that helped.
I won’t publish the supposed phone number, but it’s a guy calling himself Deshaun and he’s a Black guy with a thug complex. This is the reason so many hookers in the area won’t service Black guys.
The cops weren’t contacted. This is asinine because the hooker could just call in an anonymous tip and cops would find a gun toting drug user sitting around in a hotel so he’d be in jail regardless. Ladies – the anonymous tip is your friend. Not going to the cops is ensuring this will happen again and next time he’ll be bolder.
Rotten Reporting: WYFF and the “Un-Armed Robber”
So WYFF is reporting on a masked bandit that hit the Kangaroo gas station on Haywood Road and they point out that the mysteriously raceless criminal (though we assume he’s White since he has blue eyes) didn’t brandish a gun. Thus they conclude he was un-armed.
Really? I assume the journalist who wrote this piece knows the criminal involved and can tell us for sure he wasn’t carrying a gun in his pocket, or a knife or some pepper spray, or hiding a steel pipe up his sleeve, etc. I know that they don’t require you to take logic courses in journalism programs but it seems to me that the idea that if you didn’t see something it isn’t there would raise eyebrows even at WYFF. You don’t see the air for example. Do we live on an airless planet?
This is important because this person is potentially armed and dangerous but the reporters are turning him into a joke. The next clerk may recognize him and decide he’d rather rough up this kid – then get shot in the face.
There’s one thing and one thing only blogs and news sites have in common. we both exist to get the word out to people. For years “journalists” have abandoned that mission in favor of political agendas. Or in this case out of sheer ineptitude.
Two Teen Girls Arrested in Downtown Mugging

Of course, one is actually an adult at 19 so as usual we see the local media minimizing the crime by describing people who should do a couple of years in prison as children.
In the past few years Greenville has seen an increase in homeless youths as the city becomes more hospital to the drifting masses making the “circuit” from the big northeastern cities in the summer to the deep south in the winter. Despite the PC nonsense the majority of homeless have severe drug and alcohol problems – which is why they can’t get into shelters or section 8 housing. The mugshots of the two above seem to indicate they too like the drugs and seem to either be homeless or simply trying to fit in with homeless freinds. Since police caught them sitting in a public garage rather than fleeing the area I assume they hit this lady for drug money. The downtown is lousy with dealers these days.
From MSNBC:
Two teenagers were arrested after police say they robbed a woman at knife-point in downtown Greenville.
Acacia Brooke Pitts, 19, and Morgan Jean Key, 17, were arrested.
Pitts is charged with having an unlawful weapon, giving false name to police, armed robbery and possession of a knife during a violent crime.
Key is charged with giving false information to police, armed robbery, possession of knife during a violent crime.
The victim told police that the teens, who were armed with a knife, approached her last Thursday and she gave them her purse.
The victim was able to provide a description and police said the teens were found in the stairwell of the Bowater parking garage, dressed in the clothing the victim had described.
Police say both teens confessed to the robbery.
Throw the book at them!
