Two Men Shot in Simpsonville Trailer Park Not Cooperating With Deputies

Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a double shooting Wednesday night at Oakwood Mobile Home Park on Goldsmith Rd. between Simpsonville and Fountain Inn.  Two men suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital.  GreenvilleOnline.com reports:

“Neither one is cooperating with us,” [Greenville County sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Tim] Ridgeway said. “One was shot twice in abdomen.”

Ridgeway said one man was shot and fell in front of 311 Goldsmith St., and the second dashed down the block to get helped at 363 Goldsmith. Witnesses said the men had been arguing just before the shooting, but the reasons for the altercation were not known, Ridgeway said.

Investigators are looking into the possibility there may be a third man involved who might have been the shooter, he said.

No weapons were found, but investigators were using K-9 units to search for the weapons.

The wounded men underwent surgery early Thursday morning and are expected to survive, News Channel 7 reports.  Their identities have not been released to the public, and no arrests have been made.

The fact that neither man is cooperating with authorities suggests that there is more to this shooting.  It is likely that the incident involved drugs, gang activity, or at the very least, unlawful possession of a weapon or immigration status.
