Two men have been charged with armed robbery in connection with Saturday night’s robbery of the Hot Spot at 11504 Augusta Road in Honea Path.  Ernest Eugene Worley, 43, and Donnie Wayne Brock, 34, are being held at Greenville County Detention Center.

While details on the robbery were initially sketchy, has helped fill in some of the blanks:

Both men wore shirts wrapped around their faces and yelled at the clerk, saying the robbery wasn’t a joke, Master Deputy Melissia McKinney said. A witness reported seeing them leave the scene in a tan Jeep Cherokee, she said.

Information from the tag led the investigation to Anderson County, and authorities worked with three other police agencies, McKinney said. Worley was arrested at his Abbeville County home, she said, and Brock was found in Honea Path.

As previously reported, no one was injured during the robbery.

Do you have any information on a Home Invasion reported on news last evening? I think it was on WYFF (not positive) and it appeared to be off Hwy 417. I know they said it was in Sptbg County. My husband heard them say something about one of the criminals telling the husband in the home to handover his baseball bat. I haven’t been able to find any information on this at all. Thank you.

Peggy, at this time our coverage does not extend to Spartanburg county (with the exception of the parts of Greer that are in Spartanburg County.) We may expand in the future.

    Thanks for reading!
