Victimless Crime File: Pill Popping Misty Dawn Dawson Kills SCDOT Worker

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Greenville woman has been charged with felony DUI after authorities say her car struck and killed a state Department of Transportation employee who was working under an interstate bridge.

Greenville Police Sgt. Jason Rampey says 60-year-old Noah Lark was in the right lane of Laurens Road under an Interstate 85 bridge when he was struck at around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Lark died several hours later.

Rampey says the construction area was not marked off by cones.

Authorities say that 29-year-old Misty Dawn Dawson was driving the 1999 Ford that struck Lark. She has been charged with felony driving under the influence involving death.

Jail records showed no bond had been set for Dawson. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.

Word is that she was popping painkillers before the collision. She should get life for murdering this worker, which is exactly what she did when she decided to drive while getting high. From leftist cyberrag MSNBC:

At the hearing, Dawson said she’d just left work sick before the accident. Dawson said she took a prescription pill before leaving the office.”

“I took it right before I left work,” said Dawson. “I was thinking it wouldn’t go into affect until I got home. The wreck was right down the street from my work.”

Dawson said she does not remember anything right before or right after the crash.

“What I’m thinking is that I either blacked out or I was throwing up,” Dawson told the judge. “By no means would I intentionally try to hit anybody. I was going home to lay down because I didn’t feel good.”

In other words she’s an addict that needed a fix. How long before this addict is on the stroll?

But if abusing prescription drugs was legal this wouldn’t have happened, right Libertarians?

According to WSPA her bond has been set at a measley $25,000.

    Why jump to conclusions?
I’d wait until all of the facts are in before locking up the lil’ miss for life.
Maybe she was fixing her makeup (like the stupid chick doing only 65 mph in the fast lane in front of me the other day) – or adjusting her clothes … ahem.

Did she have a stroke? The left side of her face there looks a bit droopy…

Because this idiot thinks that these things only happen to people who take drugs or drink, he won’t report on a woman crashing for putting on makeup. it doesn’t fit his agenda and it would dilute his point

You see that one is a crime and the other is an accident, right? But I get it – you’re an addict. What are you mad police are hanging around your favorite place to buy coke?

Misty is NOT a drug/alcohol abuser. I’ve known her for 17 years & were very close friends
ends growing up. Even during those difficult teen years, Misty didn’t indulge in the drug/drinking/smoking sometimes associated with growing up in small-town USA. She’s actually a very hard-working person, devoted mother of 2. She has NO criminal history or history of alcohol/substance abuse. I believe this was a terrible tragedy which most-likely stemmed from an unforeseen reaction or a direct result of the illness she experienced just prior to the accident. I know she’s had some serious health issues in recent years. Its also possible she sustained some head injuries in that accident, which could’ve resulted in the memory loss she reports at the time of impact. As an above-poster mentioned, its highly unfair to label someone as “…an addict needing her fix”. She grew up in some unimaginable circumstances & worked very hard to make a good life for herself. My heart goes out to the victim’s family but to misty too. She was always the “voice of reason”, exuding maturity far beyond our years. How many can HONESTLY say they HAVEN’T taken allergy/cold products & have operated some form of transportation? I am in NO WAY justifying the act of ignoring t
he warnings on medicines (OTC or prescription). Its just unfair to label her without a proper investigation. She has had some serious medical issues over the years of which could have also been a contributing factor. I believe she made a bad judgment call in taking the medication & drive. So before you go posting inaccurate & potentially slanderous info, you should attempt to get your facts straight.

You ARE justifying her behavior. She got high then drove – if this was a shot of booze it would be no different. Noah Lark is DEAD because your friend, “the voice of reason”, decided to pop pills before driving – and you come here complaining that she’s being treated unfairly? Are you serious?

Tell the Lark family people should feel sorry for your poor pill popping murderess friend.
