Word on the Street: Jessie Dawn Royal in Trouble … Again?

A few days ago Jessi Dawn Royal was arrested in a meth lab in Simpsonville along with Julie Leigh Wilder and Christopher Charles Frey. All three were charged with manufacturing meth, and Royal was charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug.

Rumor has it that Royal shouldn’t have been out on the streets in the first place since she killed someone while driving high. Sure enough a quick check of the Greenville County public records shows that in 2010 a Jessie Dawn Royal pled guilty to 0395-DUI / Felony driving under the influence, death results. If this is the same Jessie Dawn why is she not only still on the streets, but cooking meth and buying scripts? Because she got some serious hug-a-thug treatment with probation and a license suspension.

This time let’s keep her in the joint.

Yes, however she did spend approximately 1.5 years in the pokey prior to a ~5 mo. sentence following the accident when she was a minor. The loss of the gentleman killed in the accident is surely regrettable. So much for CORRECTional facilities! Whether or not she was actively involved in the production of methamphetamine, this person needs some serious help & support in her life.

Driving under the influence isn’t an accident.

    Thanks for nit-picking.

That’s not nit-picking, it’s an important distinction. Someone died not because of some act of god but because Royal is selfish. She couldn’t be bothered to do what hundreds of drunks and addicts do every day – get high at home and not drive. And now she killed someone and that person would be alive today if Royal cared more about others than her petty and useless life.

I’ve known crack addicts who refuse to drive (or be around kids, etc) when they’re using. They were better people than Jessie Dawn Royal.

At the very least she should have taken a taxi. I have to agree with Rob… anyone dying due to drunken driving is not an accident. Losing control of your car due to bad weather conditions (where the driver isn’t under the influence of any substances) is an accident. She should have spent more time in prison for killing that person.

Agreed, specificity and distinction are vital to effective communication.

I would prefer much stronger penatlies for drinking and driving conviction and death involving DUI.

She has ruined many lives and is still out on the street. Should not be!

The person she killed was my son-in-law and the father of my unborn granddaughter, she has never gotten to see, know, laugh with, or be held by her daddy. My daughter was devastated, his family was devasted……but she doesn’t give it a second thought…..much harder punishment should have been given to her so she never, never does this again!! It certainly has caused much pain and lose in our family.

I’m sorry for your loss and hope your family will receive some sort of real justice.

Thank you Mr. Taylor. I just wish they had been a little tougher on her, she obviously has learned nothing. Perhaps she should have been made to look at what she had done once she was sober enough to understand, Clayton was almost cut in half by the impact. I would hate to think another family would have to go through what we did because she simply doesn’t understand what her actions caused.

She has already killed a man drinking and driving and has got another DUI and is not suppose to be driving for several more years. How many lives does she get to take before they put her away

  13. JOhn on July 14th, 2013 4:36 pm

Her brother and her robbed people? Lol yeah right.. I know her brother and he is, literally, afraid of his own shadow and as weak and defenseless as they come.

I agree with all of the post. Jessi is a troubled young girl. Unfortunately, after several other bad choices, she ended up living with her aunt, Mary Bethune, who regularly abused alcohol and prescription drugs. She (Mary) furnished Jessi with alcohol before her 21st birthday and often had no idea what was going on in her own home. (Due to EXCESSIVE INTOXICATION) Why not punish the contributors as well? Where does the fault really lay? This youth needed help. Not further indulgence. As far as Jessi Mother, she never has nor never will have any concept of what it is to be a MOTHER.

You make a good point but adults must be held accountable for their actions no matter how shitty their parents were.

Jessi is certainly a beautiful girl, too bad she is taking her life down the wrong road. She needs to accept the consequences of her actions and pay the price. Here is hoping she will straighten her life out, drugs has never done anyone any good for their life, same with excessive alcohol.

She isn’t troubled she’s a crimminal since she was 13, she needs to be in prison with the rest of the shanks. That chic is an evil freak.
